Get started

When you have registered you are ready to start the course. You will receive a password for the first lecture from the course leader. This password gives you entry to Moment 1. From this point and onwards you should work along the following structure for each Moment:

  1. Read the literature as directed for the Moment
  2. Study the lectures of the Moment
  3. Answer the study questions of the Moment. Write you answers in a word document and name it firstname_lastname_MomentX.docx, where firstname_lastname is your first and last name and X is the number of the Moment you studied. Send your answers to marinepetrophysics[at]geo.su.se
  4. When you have sent in your answers to the study questions you will receive a corrections sheet with answers and the password for the next moment. Note that we require that you provide answers on all questions. In other words, give it a try. We do not grade your answers. All answers, including graphs, images, and calculations must be placed submitted in a single document. It is a requirement that all answers include the units, and that the axis of all graphs are labeled, and also show the units. If these requirements are not met, the answers will be sent back to you for re-submission before you receive the corrections sheet.

Go through points 1–4 above for all Moments. After you have completed the last Moment you should be ready to study the material for the final exam, for which the dates are given to you by the course leader.

If you get stuck and have questions, please contact us at marinepetrophysics[at]geo.su.se. Make sure that you include the Moment and lecture in the subject line of the email.
